Milton Keynes City Council (‘the Council’) would like feedback from providers who may be interested in the provision of Education Software.
The Council currently utilises an education software system to support a broad range of statutory education functions. The system provides an integrated suite of modules that support local authority responsibilities across education and children’s services, including areas such as admissions, attendance, early years, special educational needs, transport, and other statutory duties.
The Council is now reviewing its future requirements to ensure its education software arrangements remain fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with evolving statutory, operational, and data requirements.
The purpose of this engagement is to:
- understand the current supplier market and available solutions, including alternatives or enhancements to existing systems
- seek feedback on system capability, service design, innovation, and delivery models
- inform the development of a future procurement strategy, specification, and contract model
We are keen to hear from providers on the questions published contained within the market engagement document on our e-tendering portal In-Tend . Please respond to the questions latest by 12 noon on Tuesday 26th May 2026 via In-Tend Correspondence section/market engagement stage.
If there is sufficient interest in a market engagement event to explore the proposal in more detail, this will be held on 12th June 2026, via Microsoft Teams. Please also indicate if you would like to receive an invitation which will be sent separately subject to interest.
The Market Engagement document can be accessed on our e-tendering portal: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/milton-keynes/aspx/Home
The school is a Single Academy Trust looking to appoint a caterer who supports the local team, and one who adds value to school life, participating in school and community events. The school is a State Boarding School, which brings a different dimension to the catering provision to a normal state secondary school.
The contract being offered in this project is an initial term of 36 months, with two potential extensions of 12 months each being available giving a potential 60-month (5 Years) agreement.
The senior leadership team of the Trust is keen to explore the available catering offers in the market today and is looking for the caterer to take commercial risk with a fixed price contract for the main dining room catering service, and the service provided to the boarding students.
The Trust is seeking to develop a catering contract, which offers all students in each of the year group a wide range of healthy meal choices, excellent customer care and engagement, increased meal uptakes while maintaining value for money. The school will require regular engagement from their caterer and the provision of timely and relevant management information.
At The Royal Grammar School High Wycombe, the catering service is regarded as a fundamental component of the school's educational, pastoral, and boarding provision. It is expected to contribute meaningfully to student health and wellbeing, support academic outcomes, and enhance the overall student experience, rather than operate solely as a transactional food service.
