National Grid's objective is to select appropriate suppliers to create a Pole Planting Framework to supply services across the East and West Midlands, South West England and South Wales regions. The anticipated term of the framework will be a 5 year initial term with 3 1-year extension options if National Grid choose to exercise the right to extend. National Grid UK spend approximately £27,000,000 per annum on Pole Planting Services however please note, this is an indicative figure across all areas and there is no guarantee of volumes under this Framework. The Works cover some or all of the activities listed below, exact requirements will be detailed in the relevant Work Instruction: 1. Provision of plant, machinery, and operatives for the excavation and standing of wood poles and/or associated stays. 2. Transportation of transformers, switchgear, poles, and associated materials to site, including support with their erection, dismantling, and the removal of redundant equipment as scrap. 3. Trenching, installation, repair, and testing of earthing systems; trenching and installation of service cables; and construction of joint bays at the base of overhead line poles operating on: - Low Voltage (up to 1000 V) - High Voltage (11,000 V) - Extra High Voltage (33,000 V / 66,000 V) networks The Works may include: - Activities undertaken on the Public Highway and where specified, excavation and reinstatement works. Traffic management is to be carried out by National Grid's nominated provider. - Provision of a 24-hour emergency response service, which may include planned standby, unplanned callouts, and response during significant weather-related events. - Completion of all activities in compliance with National Grid Policies and Standard Techniques.

National Grid is seeking to establish a long-term framework agreement with an experienced Contractor capable of delivering cable protection solutions, including rock berms, rock bags, concrete mattresses, and other manners of appropriate protection of subsea electricity cables. This tender is issued by National Grid UK "NGUK" Limited for and on behalf of its entities. The contract allows the wider National Grid Group and its JV Partners ("Employer") to instruct Work. NGUK and its subsidiaries shall instruct the Contractor to provide the Works for the following Interconnector Assets and Projects and any subsequent Assets which are commissioned from time to time: • National Grid Ventures Unincorporated Joint Ventures (NGV UJV) - IFA, IFA2, North Sea Link and Viking Link. • National Grid Ventures Incorporated Joint Ventures (NGV IJV) - Britned, Nemo Link, Lion Link. • Other National Grid cable businesses / Strategic Infrastructure (SI) - Eastern Green Link 1, Eastern Green Link 2, Eastern Green Link 3, Eastern Green Link 4, Eastern Green Link 5, Sea Link, Western Link, Western Link 2. The NGV UJV businesses will likely be the first contract users as there are currently multiple known exposures requiring protection. The agreement will be used when a maintenance survey identifies cable exposure requiring intervention or when a new cable section recently installed requires protection after a repair. The works shall provide minimum cover subsea cable system remediation and protection, with all the necessary and appropriate equipment required to achieve compliant completion of the works. This equipment deployed will need to cover all subsea cables and all scenarios listed below: a) Nearshore - In the nearshore environment, defined as water depths of 0 to 20 metres Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT). b) Offshore - In the offshore environment, defined as water depths in excess of of 20 metres LAT. In addition to the primary cable protection works, the Employer wishes to retain the flexibility to issue Work Orders for activities that may arise over the duration of this long-term agreement to support asset resilience. While there are currently no defined scopes for these activities, the Contractor is expected to have the capability to undertake such works if required, including: • Seabed debris removal and relocation - which may involve methods such as ROV grapnel tooling, ploughs or other appropriate clearance techniques. • Remedial and reburial works - including cable reburial and sand wave removal activities using methods such as Mass Flow Excavation or other appropriate excavation techniques. The Contractor is expected to support the core cable protection scope while maintaining the capability and readiness to deliver additional seabed intervention and cable reburial services as and when required throughout the term of the agreement.

National Grid currently procures geospatial (GIS) data independently across Business Units, driven by project specific needs. This decentralized approach has led to duplication of datasets, inconsistent coverage, variable quality, and limited reuse. A single view is required of what geospatial data is owned, licensed, open, and stored. The project supports National Grid's ambition to move to enterprise wide data reuse, stronger governance, and improved commercial outcomes; a single tool that provides a variety of datasets such as ordnance survey, natural resources, environmental etc. • Objectives: • Establish a single, enterprise-wide procurement and governance model for all geospatial (GIS) data across NG Group, UK. • Replace fragmented, project-led data purchasing with standardized, centrally managed access. • Eliminate duplication, inconsistent coverage, and limited reuse caused by historic Business Unit-led procurement. • Improve visibility, control, and availability of both licensed/premium and open geospatial datasets. • Enable cost reduction and greater value through enterprise-wide reuse and optimized licensing. • Successful supplier will supply, license, and support core geospatial datasets and • Enable access to both premium and open datasets. The maps and data should be provided through electronic means, via a suitable software platform.

National Grid requires the provision of comprehensive Asbestos Consultancy, Management, Analytical, Mitigation, Containment and Removal Services across its portfolio of operational and non-operational sites across England and Wales. The services are required across two separate National Grid business units: • National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) • National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) Suppliers should note that NGET and NGED operate as separate business units and may have differing operational requirements, governance arrangements, systems, processes, standards and reporting requirements. The anticipated term of the framework will be a 4-year initial term with 2 two-year extension options upon mutual agreement. The services shall support National Grid in fulfilling its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012), including the duty to manage asbestos, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance. The appointed supplier(s) shall deliver services on both a planned and reactive basis, supporting routine maintenance, refurbishment, demolition, emergency response activities and wider capital projects. All works shall be carried out in full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012). Suppliers shall maintain all necessary licences, accreditations, insurances, permits and environmental registrations required to deliver the services. They shall ensure that all personnel are suitably trained, qualified and competent and that services are delivered in a safe, proactive and risk-based manner. The framework is anticipated to be divided into the following Lots: • Lot 1 - NGET Asbestos Consultancy Services • Lot 2 - NGET Asbestos Removal Services • Lot 3 - NGED Asbestos Consultancy Services • Lot 4 - NGED Asbestos Removal Services The Asbestos Consultancy Services shall include, but not be limited to: • Undertaking management Surveys, refurbishment and demolition surveys, re-inspections, asbestos risk assessments and site-specific management plans. • The Consultant shall provide sampling, testing and laboratory analysis through UKAS-accredited facilities, undertake air monitoring and four-stage clearance procedures, and issue all relevant certification and reports. • The Consultant shall also provide technical advice, quality assurance, compliance auditing, contractor oversight, specification development for remediation works and support to procurement activities where required. • In addition, the Consultant shall provide and maintain a secure web-based asbestos management database to enable the storage, management and reporting of asbestos-related information across the National Grid sites. The Asbestos Removal Services shall include: • Licensed and non-licensed asbestos works undertaken in accordance with CAR 2012 and all applicable HSE guidance. • Licensed works shall be undertaken by appropriately licensed asbestos contractors and may include asbestos removal, encapsulation, remediation, environmental cleaning, decontamination, emergency response, installation of enclosures, dismantling of asbestos-containing plant and equipment, and the transportation and disposal of asbestos waste. • Non-licensed works shall be undertaken by competent personnel using appropriate control measures and compliant working practices

This QUDM is for Substation Construction, Underground Cabling, Overhead Tower Line Construction, Overhead Wood Pole Line Construction and Civils works, all primarily from 33kV to 132kV. In addition to the requirements of National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED), the Contracting Authority reserves the right for other National Grid group companies to procure works and services through this QUDM. This may include, but is not limited to, the delivery of substation, underground cable and overhead line construction works associated with transmission and distribution network infrastructure. No minimum volume of work is guaranteed in respect of such requirements. Once established, this QUDM may be used to tender the Major Projects Partnership, NGED's principal delivery framework for third-party construction services in ED3. ED3 (Electricity Distribution 3) refers to the next five-year electricity distribution price control period (2028-2033), set by Ofgem, which will determine how distribution network operators (DNOs) plan and invest in Britain's electricity system. It is important because it will shape the scale, pace and delivery of network upgrades needed to support growing demand, connect new generation, and enable the transition to low carbon technologies, while ensuring services remain reliable, affordable, and responsive to customer needs. Delivery will involve close collaboration with key partners, who will play a vital role in enabling investment in infrastructure, innovation and network resilience to meet the needs of customers and communities over the coming period. Substation Construction - Works under Substation Construction comprise of the following indicative list, specific to working within a live high-voltage (primarily 33 to 132kV) distribution network substation environment, with a typical project estimated between £200,000 and £5million: - New Build AIS/GIS. - AIS/GIS substation extension. - Major AIS/GIS substation asset replacement. - Protection and control systems installation, configuration and commissioning. - Mechanical and electrical installation, testing and commissioning - Contractors may be required to procure from NGED pre-approved supplier lists, accept free-issue equipment, or accept novation of contracts placed by NGED (e.g. power transformers, protection and control, GIS, AIS, consumables). - These works will be awarded on a regional basis, split between the four DNO licence areas of NGED. Overhead Tower Line Construction - Works under Overhead Tower Line Construction comprises of the following illustrative list for Tower Overhead Line Construction works with typical project estimated between £500,000 and £20million. Scope shall include but is not limited to, the following indicative types of works (primarily 33 to 132kV): - Supply or collect free-issue towers and install to NGED specification. - Electrical works for new and replacement overhead tower construction. - These works will be across all four DNO licence areas of NGED and successful contractors may be appointed nationally. Overhead Wood Pole Line Construction - Works under Overhead Wood Pole Line Construction comprises of the following illustrative list for Wood Pole Line Construction works (primarily 33 to 132kV) with typical project estimated between £50,000 and £2million. Scope shall include but is not limited to, the following indicative types of works: - Supply or collect free-issue wood poles and install to NGED specification. - Electrical works for new and replacement overhead wood pole construction. - These works will be across all four DNO licence areas of NGED and successful contractors may be appointed nationally. Underground Cabling - Works under Underground Cabling comprise of the following illustrative list for Underground Cabling Construction works with typical project estimated between £200,000 and £10million. Scope shall include but is not limited to, the following indicative types of works (primarily 33 to 132kV): - Cable jointing up to 132kV (client-issued and non-client-issued materials). - Temporary works design for jointing techniques - Cable pulling: access, trenches, duct installation, jointing, testing, backfilling, installation. - Cable removal: buried HV cable and associated above-ground equipment (terminations, oil tanks, kiosks, foundations). - These works will be awarded on a regional basis, split between the four DNO licence areas of NGED. Civils - Works under Civils comprise of the following illustrative list for Civils works with typical project estimated between £100k to £5 million. Scope shall include but is not limited to, the following indicative types of works (primarily 33 to 132kV): - Modification, demolition, dismantling, foundations, fencing, interceptors, drainage, roads, trenching, excavation, cable ducts within existing substations. - Associated building maintenance (roofs, redecoration, joinery, guttering, glazing, trench covers, doors/gates). - Specialist works for environmental protection (flooding, wind, humidity). Multi-Disciplinary Works - These works are designed to allow Contractors to offer more than one service from the above areas as a package of works and covers the requirements of all the above works. - Contractors may be awarded works that covers two or more of the work required in Overhead Line - Tower, Overhead Line - Wood Pole, Substation and Underground Cable. - These works will typically include the largest and most complex of NGED's projects. - These works will be across all four DNO licence areas of NGED and successful contractors may be appointed nationally. Scope generally applicable to all work categories Design - Outline and detailed design (construction, maintenance, temporary works, electrical safety), including drawings and technical reporting for planning/consent and construction information. - Act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 and appoint Principal Designer Representative as required. - Review System Design Specification and prior design works for gaps, limitations and restrictions. - Discharge planning/consent conditions into detailed design - Manage design change with version control, and coordinate across disciplines to reduce interface risk. - Eliminate hazards so far as reasonably practicable and reflect NGED environmental and sustainability requirements. Surveys - Plan, deliver and report all lifecycle surveys, including site walkover, borehole, soil, intrusive (e.g. foundation), existing asset and utility surveys. Project, programme and site management - Act as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015. - Deliver works to NGED Management of Works procedures and all applicable standards. - Manage safety, quality, security and environmental compliance - Maintain site records, document control and a safe/secure site - Deploy sufficient competent resources. Telecoms ducts and chambers must comply with Standard Techniques CA6A, TC3a and TC3B. - Communications tower construction may also be required, comprising of a square base for a radio tower, generator base and associated ducts and chambers, cable management, earthing and fencing as required.

The requirement encompasses the supply, delivery, collection, maintenance and support of a wide range of plant and equipment, together with associated services. National Grid has a requirement for an effective, compliant and maintainable EV charging infrastructure that covers supply, design participation, installation, commissioning, warranty, on‑site support and ongoing maintenance, together with a dedicated back‑office delivery system to manage connectivity, payments, user support and MI/reporting.
