Clarification Note 01 reissued as version 1.1, replacing version 1.0 published earlier today. Version 1.1 corrects the response at Q21 and the corresponding entry at clause 11.3, both concerning which of the five timber floors are of sprung construction. Version 1.0 stated that the gymnasium is the only sprung timber floor. That is not supported by the tender documents: clause 7.3.1 records the assembly hall in the same combined "wood / sprung timber" surface category, and only the gymnasium carries the School's express confirmation. Version 1.1 therefore states that the gymnasium is the only area whose sprung construction has been confirmed by the School, and the position for the remaining areas is being confirmed and will be issued in a supplementary note. One item has been added to the list of outstanding points at section 11. The correction to clause 19.2 is unchanged: there are five timber areas, and the statement that the gymnasium is the only timber floor on the Site is incorrect. No other response is altered. No other change has been made to this notice: the requirement, the conditions of participation, the award criteria and weightings, the estimated value and the contract term are all unchanged. The deadline for receipt of tenders remains 12.00 noon on Monday 26 October 2026, and the tendering period continues to run from the original publication date of 24 September 2026.
The site. A single secondary school of approximately 4,315 m² of printed in-scope floor area across three blocks, together with a sports hall building of approximately 1,175 m² delivered under a 2025-26 expansion. A room-by-room schedule of floor surfaces, an out-of-scope list and a sanitary provision schedule are issued with the tender documents. The service. Fully managed: routine cleaning over a 40-week service year, periodic, holiday, deep and non-routine cleaning including high-level work, on-site supervision, labour, equipment, materials, quality assurance and reporting. Washroom consumables are to be priced both as a School-supplied and as a Contractor-supplied option. Points tenderers should note. Timber and sprung timber floors account for 616.6 m², 14.3 per cent of the in-scope area, across five areas including a sports floor and a floor in a food-consumption area. The estate contains 58 WCs, 56 wash basins and 20 showers. There is no site access at weekends or on bank holidays. The sports hall building is not expected to be available before the new year and is priced separately. Workforce. A TUPE service provision change is anticipated, involving eight employees across two transferors - seven employed by the outgoing contractor and one employed directly by the School. One employee is an active member of the Local Government Pension Scheme at an employer contribution rate of 18.4 per cent. Anonymised workforce information is issued with the tender documents, subject to the confidentiality terms of the Invitation to Tender. Approach to award. The School is procuring a properly resourced service that is correctly priced. Evaluation weights quality, staffing model, supervision and mobilisation alongside price.
