The UK government's official portal for publishing public sector contract opportunities, replacing the EU's OJEU system post-Brexit under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
Find a Tender Service (FTS) is the UK's national e-notification system for advertising public sector procurement opportunities. Launched to replace access to the EU's Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) following Brexit, FTS serves as the primary portal where contracting authorities must publish contract notices above EU thresholds.
The service is managed by the Cabinet Office and integrates with Contracts Finder for below-threshold opportunities. Contracting authorities use FTS to publish various notice types including Prior Information Notices, Contract Notices, and Contract Award Notices, ensuring compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
Under regulation 49 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, contracting authorities must advertise opportunities on FTS when values exceed: - £213,477 for goods and services (central government) - £328,050 for goods and services (other public bodies) - £4,733,252 for works contracts
Notices must remain published for minimum periods—typically 35 days for open procedures and 30 days for restricted procedures.
FTS ensures UK public procurement maintains transparency and accessibility post-Brexit whilst complying with international trade agreements. It provides suppliers with a single point of access to high-value opportunities across all public sector organisations.
The platform supports the government's procurement transparency agenda and helps SMEs identify relevant opportunities through improved search functionality and standardised notice formats. Failure to properly advertise through FTS can result in legal challenges and procurement process delays.
