The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is seeking a bespoke training programme that will equip its people with the core skills required to effectively conduct SFO investigations, based around the powers available to the SFO to exercise (including the Criminal Justice Act 1987/Section 2 and Proceeds of Crime Act 2002). The programme will cover the following areas:
• The theory and process behind conducting an investigation
• Interviewing witnesses and victims
• Interviewing suspects
The primary participants of the programme will be investigators involved in criminal financial investigations, as well as civil recovery and confiscation investigations. In turn, this will range from new entrant, trainee investigators, to experienced investigators/senior investigators, investigative lawyers and financial investigators.
By completing the Investigator Training Programme, learners will gain an increased confidence in:
• The theory and process that constitutes an investigation conducted by the SFO
• Adopting a strategic, methodical and investigative mindset throughout all stages of an investigation
• Their role and responsibility within an SFO investigation
• Investigative decision making and risk management
• Exercising the powers available to the SFO throughout an investigation
• Interviewing, taking and structuring statements from witnesses, victims and suspects.
To support learners in digesting and applying the programme content, whilst recognising the commitments from their day-to-day roles, we intend to split the course content into modules, comprising of up to three days per module. The modules will combine theory, along with interactive engagement and regular opportunities to practice the skills taught.

The Council is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide a full design and build service for the assessment, repair, refurbishment or replacement of an existing bridge. WNC Children & Young People Health and Wellbeing Survey
WNC is seeking an experienced provider to support the design, mobilisation, delivery, analysis and reporting of three periodic Children and Young People's Health and Wellbeing Survey waves. Birmingham City Council is seeking to commission external consultancy to conduct a thorough domestic abuse needs assessment for the city.
The needs assessment will form a key part of Birmingham’s evidence-led approach to tackling domestic abuse, providing robust evidence of local need. The needs assessment should take the form of a well-evidenced written report, supported by a thorough compilation of both qualitative and quantitative data. It should provide a comprehensive and honest picture of the prevalence and response to domestic abuse across agencies within Birmingham, looking at changes over the past three years, expected changes in the next three years and any gaps or needs around new communities in the city.
It must go beyond the duty set out by the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, which only represents the needs of those who require support in domestic abuse safe accommodation. The assessment we require will span across the continuum of domestic abuse, capturing need at prevention, support and crisis stages.
This will include mapping the current domestic abuse pathways, across Criminal Justice services, Children Services, Health, Housing/Homelessness, Education, Adult Social Care etc. (this is a non-exhaustive list), to support Birmingham’s whole systems approach to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. The mapping will include commissioned and non-commissioned domestic abuse services, the exempt accommodation sector across the city and the associated pathways across this provision.
