The Welsh Blood Service (WBS) requires an advanced automated haematology analysis system to support blood donor assessment, blood component quality monitoring, research and innovation activities. The proposed solution will be required to provide automated full blood count (FBC) analysis, 5-part white cell differential capability and integrated reticulocyte analysis on the primary analyser. Of particular interest are systems capable of generating the data required to support emerging donor health assessment methodologies, including FlowScore calculation and reticulated haemoglobin analysis for the early detection of iron deficiency in blood donors. The requirement is includes advanced analytical capabilities that support the unique operational needs of a blood establishment. These include fluorescence platelet counting with high accuracy at low platelet concentrations, reticulated platelet measurement, low-level white cell enumeration suitable for blood component quality monitoring, and the ability to perform blood component testing without the need for separate instrumentation. Suppliers should be able to demonstrate how their platforms support routine blood component quality control programmes through dedicated blood bank functionality and provide evidence of successful implementation within blood services, blood centres or comparable blood establishments. WBS is particularly interested in solutions that are supported by robust External Quality Assessment (EQA/EQAS) programmes and can demonstrate meaningful peer group benchmarking through sufficient participant numbers using the same analyser platform and methodology. Suppliers should be able to demonstrate compliance with applicable medical device regulations, support quality and regulatory requirements through a mature quality management system and provide resilient service and maintenance arrangements that minimise downtime and ensure continuity of critical testing services.

Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) require the replacement of the existing flat roof covering over Monnow Ward at Bronllys Community Hospital, Brecon. The existing waterproofing system and roof deck have been identified as being in poor condition, with deterioration attributed to natural ageing, water ingress, membrane shrinkage, failed laps, blistering and previous ineffective repair works. The roof deck is considered fragile in areas due to water ingress and is therefore to be removed and replaced. The works will include the careful removal and disposal of the existing roof covering, deck and associated components, followed by any necessary structural, timber and deck repairs. Ridge and Partners LLP consultancy firm conducted a survey and have identified the appropriate roof to be a new Alumasc flat roofing system, including insulation, membranes, trims, upstands, abutments, outlets and accessories, is to be installed to provide a complete warranted system. Associated works include replacement of affected fascia and soffit boards, lead repairs, rainwater goods, and temporary removal and reinstatement/replacement of roof tiles at pitched roof abutments to achieve suitable upstand details. The contract is to be administered under the JCT Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design, 2024 Edition. The contractor is required to satisfy themselves as to the existing conditions, extent of works and site constraints. Particular consideration should be given to safe access and edge protection, structural loading capacity, storage of materials at roof level, roof plant/services, drainage and falls, and maintaining the building weather-tight throughout the works.

Velindre University NHS Trust is seeking to procure a specialist supplier to design and develop a World Model for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) delivery in support of the transition to the new Velindre Cancer Centre. Bangor University requires a supplier to undertake the digital reconstruction of North Wales Hospital in Denbigh and develop an immersive visualisation environment that explores and communicates experiences of mental illness through architectural and spatial representation. TTPH is a broadly nationally representative panel of around 2,500 people aged 16+ years who are resident in Wales. We deliver national bilingual (Welsh and English) surveys with the panel, achieving a minimum survey sample of 1,000 people, who are broadly representative of the population of Wales. Quota sampling has been applied to geography (health board), age, sex, deprivation quintile (Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation) and ethnicity. PHW is undertaking this preliminary engagement exercise to better understand the cost associated with continuing to deliver the current TTPH model of three surveys a year from April 2028 – March 2021. This exercise is intended to understand the cost of delivery of TTPH from April 2028 for three years if we continued to deliver three surveys a year based on the details within the PME document (available on request). The cost for hosting a website by the MRC is not required, this can be solely conducted on PHW website.
