The aim of the service is to provide short-term, non-clinical support to young people who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, isolation or other issues, and who may be disengaged from education and/or the community. Through regular contact with an identified staff member or trained volunteer, outside of their home, young people are supported over a number of weeks to gain confidence, re-engage with their peers or services, and work towards positive destinations. The service will provide or support pathways to appropriate positive destinations, for example through their own services or through partner services in the local area.

1.2 NHS Lanarkshire’s estate comprises approximately 60 sites across Lanarkshire, ranging from large acute hospitals to small rural GP practices. To maintain safe access and service continuity during adverse weather conditions, the Board requires a framework for the provision of winter gritting and snow clearance services. The framework is divided into four lots to provide appropriate geographical and service coverage across the estate. This framework will be utilised where NHS Lanarkshire is unable to provide these services through its in-house teams and requires support from external contractors to ensure service continuity and site accessibility. The services are typically required during the winter season, operating consecutively from October through to April each year.

NHS Lanarkshire wish to put in place a contract for the provision of managed Winter Maintenance Services at University Wishaw Hospital. Services required via the managed service contract will include gritting, salting and snow clearance, based on local weather monitoring and forecasting. NHS Lanarkshire Health Board, a statutory body constituted pursuant to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 (“the Board”), wishes to procure the replacement of the infected linen Continuous Batch Washer (CBW) line at the West of Scotland Laundry (“the Goods and Services”).
