The Trust is seeking a Contractor to provide a high-quality outsourced catering service, whilst delivering value for money for the school, parents and pupils using the Services. The Contract will include all food and staff provision to support the delivery of the service requirement.

Kings Hill School and Nursery first opened in March 1998. Graded as Outstanding by Ofsted, it is a very popular school in the heart of the Kings Hill community, just outside West Malling in Kent. We have 420 children in the main school and every year we enrol approximately 75 nursery children, aged 2 – 4 years. The tender project is seeking to appoint a Contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of service within the existing facilities for the 475 students on roll and 78 teaching and support staff, with a focus on exciting new food concepts to satisfy a wide range of pupil tastes and dietary requirements which will provide our children with nutritious and attractive menus on a weekly basis. The school has not tested the market for a number of years and would wish the successful contractor to review the current range of services offered and make recommendations accordingly. The contract being tendered is for three years in duration from January 2027 to December 2030 and will operate as a Guaranteed Performance Contract, with the successful Contractor offering the school a guaranteed return / cost per annum for the provision of catering services. Sovereignty of the cash tariff is to remain with Kings Hill School and Nursery for the duration of this contract. The school year is based on a calendar of 195 days. Five days are to be used for staff professional development which means that school will be open to receive students for the legal minimum of 190 days. The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the school, which currently includes morning breakfast club, lunch, after school club and free issue requirements. Free school meals will be charged based on consumption and at net food cost. The provision of the service must demonstrate the best value approach and be flexible in its delivery and operation to ensure that the needs and ethos of the school are supported. This tender process is targeted to have a catering contract in place to commence in April 2027. The True Learning Partnership (TTLP) are seeking to procure a number of providers for a multi-supplier framework for catering services. The main objective of this procurement exercise is to deliver the procurement of a framework that will enable the Trust to source catering services for its schools. There are initially 5 schools in this framework, however, other schools may call off later. It should be noted that it is not mandatory for Trust schools to use this framework.
