Provision of ROAD MARKING WORKS IN WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS 2027-2028
The Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor to undertake Road Marking and associated works to the highway. The contract will be used primarily to deliver road markings for traffic regulation orders, road safety schemes or to renew worn out markings and High Friction / Coloured Surfacing as detailed on the sections of the Client's highway network throughout Westmorland and Furness as instructed by Task Orders.
The contract will cover the full Council areas with no lots.
The project involves the development of the Sandscale Park Integrated Services Depot on Council‑owned land at the former Owl Centre in Barrow‑in‑Furness. Following a feasibility study that identified initial site constraints, the next phase requires the preparation of design and cost documentation up to RIBA Stage 3, alongside a suite of technical surveys, environmental assessments, and planning‑related work to support a future planning application.
The design will also consider the usage of modular buildings and existing infrastructure due to be constructed at Sandscale Park.
Re-purposing Penrith Town Hall into a Creative and Community Hub
Westmorland and Furness Council (W&FC) is seeking to appoint a lead multi-disciplinary consultancy team to design and oversee delivery of the transformation of the Grade II listed Penrith Town Hall into a vibrant Creative and Community Hub. The project will revitalise a vacant historic asset, creating a flexible cultural, creative, community and civic venue while integrating a re-imagined Penrith and Eden Museum.
The appointed consultant team will take the project through RIBA Stages 0-6, building upon an existing Outline Business Case and supporting the development of a Full Business Case for Council approval.
