Provision of Planning Enforcement Direct Action Contractor
Orkney Islands Council wish to appoint a contractor (or contractors) to carry out various works on an as-required basis by the Council acting as Planning Authority, specifically in relation to its enforcement function. This is necessary for the credibility integrity of the planning process. Contractors are welcome to bid for one lot only or as many of the lot combinations as they wish.
Dynamic Purchasing - Construction, Civil Engineering and associated works REVISED
Orkney Islands Council is extending its existing Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for all construction, Civil Engineering and associated works for a 60 month period.
This will replace the existing Approved Contractors List. Works up to 2,000,000 GBP including reactive and planned maintenance, improvements, re-developments, testing, servicing and associated works will be covered by this DPS.
Works will be procured from a range methods, from dayworks to quick quotes for works up to 50,000 GBP and open procurement for works between 50,000 GBP and 2,000,000 GBP or where there is limited competition.

To provide grounds maintenance services across the Orkney mainland, linked south isles and Hoy. This will include grass cutting, strimming, weed control, maintenance of planting including shrubs and small trees. Note this will be a term service contract for the four year period from 1 April 2027 until 31 March 2031, with an option to extend for one further year subject to meeting the performance criteria defined in the contract.
