MBC has received funding from Central Government as part of the Levelling Up programme and we are looking to create a new sculpture trail around the town, with the aim of encouraging exploration and discovery.
Exact locations for the artworks are yet to be confirmed but will likely include Brenchley Gardens, Fairmeadow (riverside), the grounds of the Archbishops' Palace and the Lockmeadow Complex. All necessary planning permissions will be obtained by MBC and artists are not required to budget for this in their proposal.
The physical sculpture trail will be complemented with a digital app that will help people explore the trail, as well as the wider town and its landmarks, culture and heritage. MBC will be commissioning this separately, but all sculptures will need to include space for a QR code or small sign.
