The integrated community equipment service (ICES) supplies equipment ranging from raised toilet seats to electric profiling beds and hoists, key safes and handrails to support residents of all ages, although most users are people aged 65 and above. The scope of the contract includes the supply, delivery, fitting and installation, adjustment, servicing and testing, collection, refurbishment, recycling and disposal of items of equipment.
London Borough of Hillingdon plan to tender for new awards which may involve a new framework/new frameworks for Home Care and Outreach support for adults and older people and for children and young people in the Hillingdon geographical area, to replace the existing contracts which will cease in 2028.
The council is also reviewing the commissioning of support services in extra-care.
