Gateshead Council (the Council) is inviting care providers to attend an Early Market Engagement session to discuss the opportunity to become part of a new Extra Care Framework that will support the delivery Extra Care services across Gateshead.
As part of the Framework’s development, the Council is seeking to engage with the market to understand provider interest, gather feedback, and gain valuable insights that will help shape the procurement approach and service requirements. Providers are invited to attend the event on Monday 16th November 2026 from 14:0-15:0 which will be held online on Teams.
Framework for the Provision of Temporary Emergency Accommodation
Gateshead Council requires the provision of night-paid temporary accommodation for homeless households who require emergency accommodation at short notice.
The Council is looking to establish an Alternative Education Provision Framework to support the commissioning and placement of children and young people requiring educational provision outside of mainstream settings.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Mediation and Resolution Service
Gateshead Council (the Council) is reviewing its arrangements for the provision of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Mediation and Resolution Service, which supports children and young people with SEND, parents, carers and the Local Authority in resolving disputes and disagreements relating to education, health and care matters.
The Council is considering future commissioning options for this service.
As part of this process, the Council is undertaking a Market Engagement Exercise to establish the level of market interest, gather intelligence from potential providers, and improve its understanding of available service models, innovation opportunities, delivery approaches, and market capacity.
Gateshead Council is exploring the market for SEND Mediation and Resolution Service and is therefore engaging with the market to establish interest and understand current provider capacity, expertise and innovative approaches to service delivery.
