Forestry England is the largest land manager in England and custodian of the nation’s forests. We will be awarding a contract for consultancy services in support of Forestry England’s corporate partnerships programme. Our intention is to award this contract for a period of 5 years. Forestry England will shortly be tendering for the design, construction and commercial operation of Rogate Bike Park. Rogate Bike Park is a grass roots site that has evolved from informal mountain bike trails to a commercial operation. The trails have a certificate of lawfulness in place from the local planning authority. There has historically not been a formalised car park, however now planning permission (with reserved matters) has been granted for a paid car parking provision. Car park construction has yet to take place (as of 21/08/2026). Please note that it is our intention to advertise this tender once the car park works have been completed. Forestry England are currently looking to secure further funding for investment on site, such as a welcome cabin and further toilet provisions. This is not confirmed funding at the time of market engagement.

Forestry England have a future opportunity for new site partnerships to deliver activities and events at Jeskyns Community Woodland in the East England Forest District. The activity / event providers must deliver family leisure/wellbeing activities which add to our visitor experience onsite and increase stay duration. It is preferable for the activities to happen at peak visitor times (i.e., weekends and school holidays) and the events to occur seasonally. Forestry England are actively developing the facilities at the Jeskyns site in order to encourage additional visitor numbers and stay duration. This includes establishing additional toilet facilities and further car parking. Potential site activities/events could include an outdoor cinema or segway hire. There are a number of flat, accessible paths across the site which can be utilised in any proposed activity. It should also be noted that there is an existing storage container that may be used in the delivery of this requirement / there is space on site for an additional storage container if required. Forestry England are currently scoping our requirements to ensure that the future tender documentation and specification accurately reflects the offerings of the outdoor activities/events market. We invite interested companies from the market to register their interest in this future requirement and provide feedback on potential clarifications on the feasibility of our emerging plans. With a good network of surfaced walking trails, children's play areas, café and even a dog activity trail, there is something for everyone to explore at any time of the year. Current facilities and activities include Jeskyns Cafe, disc golf, forest school, puppy and dog life skills courses, parkrun, and the Room on the Broom trail.

A contract for the design, supply and install/construction of appropriate and compliant deer larders across the East England Forest District. We currently forecast that there will be two deer larders required. In particular we are interested in modular solutions to meet our requirements.

Forestry England is seeking to engage with the market in relation to the provision of vegetation management services to support a national woodland creation programme funded by Defra through to 2029/30. The requirement covers multiple sites across England (currently approximately 30), including both newly planted and established woodland, and includes activities such as mechanical and chemical weed control, row mowing, and invasive species management. Forestry England is exploring options for a flexible, scalable delivery model (potentially via a framework or similar arrangement) to improve consistency and efficiency across sites. The organisation is also interested in understanding market capability, capacity, and opportunities for innovation, including the use of automated or AI-enabled solutions. This preliminary market engagement is intended to inform the development of the procurement strategy and future tender approach.

Forestry England is seeking market engagement for a peatland restoration framework across multiple sites (to be confirmed). The scope includes provision of all labour, plant, materials, and expertise to deliver restoration works. Including tree and scrub removal using a mechanical mulcher, hagg and gully reprofiling, hydrological restoration and re-wetting through the construction of water control structures, including peat dams, plastic piling dams, stone dams, timber dams and bunding and forest-to-bog work through ground smoothing, which may include stump flipping, stump grinding, furrow reprofiling, and cross-tracking. Some sites may require helicopter transport due to access constraints. Contractors will also be responsible for environmental safeguards, site protection, monitoring, and reporting.

Forestry England has a future opportunity for a framework for the provision of site, plant and equipment training and assessments. A full list of required modules is attached to this notice. Forestry England are currently conducting market research to gauge market interest, and to ensure that our tender documentation is aligned to market standards.

Forestry England has recently acquired 169ha of ex-arable farmland near Twyford, Hampshire. The site is to be planted with tree saplings of a variety of species and spacings, at approximately 290,000 trees over the 169ha. This project is subject to relevant regulatory approvals, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and may be subject to change, 19ha of the site is still subject to contract completion and may not be included in the final contract. Fields have been drilled with low-maintenance grass sward, and planting lines will be marked prior to planting. Trees will be supplied by Forestry England and could be a mixture of cell and bare root saplings. A small percentage of trees will be planted in tree guards in low-density planting. Site is largely vehicle accessible through farm trackways with suitable inside storage barn available on site.
