Derry City and Strabane District Council seeks to appoint an ICT for the development of Hazelbank Play Park. The Contract is for the provision of a Quantity Surveyor/NEC 4 Project Manager/Civil Engineer/Structural Engineer/or Landscape Architect led, fully Integrated Consultant Team (ICT) for the design development and delivery of the Play Park at Hazelbank. Derry City and Strabane District Council plans to commence a robust, credible and transparent preliminary market engagement process to procure specialist technical services to assess the feasibility and support the design of a £2m Positive Energy District (PED) Pilot project in Strabane Town Centre. PEDs, according to JPI Urban Europe, are “energy-efficient and energy-flexible urban areas or groups of connected buildings which produce net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and actively manage an annual local or regional surplus production of renewable energy. They require integration of different systems and infrastructures and interaction between buildings, the users and the regional energy, mobility and ICT systems while securing the energy supply and a good life for all in line with social, economic, and environmental sustainability.” (Ref: JPI Urban Europe / SET Plan Action 3.2, “White Paper on Reference Framework for Positive Energy Districts and Neighbourhoods,” Austria, 2020). The Council employs approximately 1,000 staff, including employees residing in cross border areas. The appointed Provider will be required to deliver the service in line with Council policies, statutory obligations, and best practice standards. Derry City and Strabane District Council Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the removal and replacement of the existing spectator seating, and associated framed seating supports in the South Stand of The Ryan Mc Bride Brandywell Stadium. The new seating must be weatherproof, durable, and fit for purpose, with the strength and resilience required to withstand constant exposure to the elements. It must also be robust enough to safely support heavy and regular foot traffic associated with stadium use in accordance with the specification. All seating frames and support structures must be constructed from strong, long-lasting materials and designed to withstand weather conditions over time, ensuring safety, stability, and minimal ongoing maintenance in accordance with the specification. Derry City and Strabane District Council invites tenders from suitably qualified contractors for the demolition of existing modular building and construction of new community hub at Springhill Park, Strabane. The contract involves the removal of an existing temporary structure, including its foundations, shed, oil tank, burner and associated cabling. A ground condition survey will be required around oil tank and burner. An existing air monitor is to be retained, with its connection cables rerouted as required. All play park equipment is to be carefully removed and stored off site for the duration of the works. A photographic condition survey to be carried out prior to removal. A new community hub building will be constructed, comprising of a hall area, office, meeting room, kitchen, accessible WC, standard WC, cleaner’s store, storage rooms and a plant room. M+E works will provide underfloor heating, air source heat pump with UFH manifold and solar panels. External works will include resurfacing around the building and adjacent play park, as well as the installation of a planter to the front, fencing, gates, cycle stands, signage, and a drainage system with attenuation tank.
