Derbyshire Dales District Council (The Council) is seeking a concessionaire to provide and operate a safe, welcoming and friendly children's funfair every Saturday and Sunday during the period of the Matlock Bath Illuminations which takes place annually during September and October. The 2024 event dates are 7 September to 27 October. The event dates for the subsequent years shall be provided to the concessionaire at a later date. Matlock Bath Illuminations is a family event which operates in Derwent Gardens located in Matlock Bath, the event sells approximately 45,000 tickets during the season (dependant on weather conditions), with a maximum capacity of 4500 per evening. This contract is being let as a concession arrangement, for which the Concessionaire shall offer a fixed concession fee to the Council as part of the tender response. The initial contract period is 3 years and 3 months; the contract is estimated to commence 19 August 2024 and expire 7 November 2027. There will be an option to extend the contract for 2 years in annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance and business needs.
