Description

The Council has awarded a contract to BT Group PLC for the continued provision of fixed telecommunications services required to maintain operational continuity across Council locations. The services include the ongoing support of residual analogue/PSTN lines and associated digital replacement services that have been implemented as part of the Council's telephony modernisation programme. The contract supports critical connectivity and voice services across operational sites, including libraries, sheltered housing schemes, and other Council facilities. The arrangement ensures continuity of service while the remaining legacy telecommunications estate is rationalised, unnecessary services are ceased, and a confirmed baseline of future digital service requirements is established. This contract represents a temporary solution pending the completion of the Council's telecommunications transition programme and the development of a longer-term procurement strategy for ongoing fixed telephony and connectivity services.
