The University of Gloucestershire is undertaking a brief market engagement exercise to inform its future procurement strategy for Occupational Health Services. The current student service includes health screening, immunisations, occupational health assessments and placement clearances for Healthcare and Education students undertaking placement-based programmes. A separate contract currently provides a specialist Occupational Health service for University staff, delivering independent professional advice and support to employees, managers and HR on health-related matters and workplace wellbeing. The staff service is required to be impartial, responsive and accessible, providing clear recommendations on fitness for work, workplace adjustments, rehabilitation and return-to-work planning, enabling managers and HR to make informed decisions while supporting a proactive and preventative approach to employee health and wellbeing. The University particularly wishes to understand: • The level of market interest in providing Occupational Health Services with accessible facilities and local service provision (where required) to ensure that both staff and students can easily access occupational health services within the local area. • Whether providers can support staff and healthcare student Occupational Health Services under a single contract. • The advantages, challenges and considerations associated with different delivery models. The OH services would be delivered to approx. 1400 healthcare and 300 education students and 1000 staff. This engagement is for information-gathering purposes only and is not a formal procurement. It does not commit the University to any future procurement or contractual arrangement, and the University reserves the right to determine its future sourcing strategy and route to market.
