GL RFCA Kensington ARC Boiler Replacement

Below threshold procurement - by invitation only. Due to the urgent on-site need for these works, we are only inviting bids from suppliers who are on-boarded to both the Central Digital Platform and our own finance system, Symphony. This is intended to avoid delaying the delivery of the works, as the on-boarding process can take some time. Only those invited suppliers will be asked to attend a site open day, and only submissions from those invited will be evaluated. All others will be disregarded, not opened or evaluated. This project consists of the replacement of the existing central heating boiler plant and equipment at Army Reserve Centre, 1A Iverna Gardens, Kensington, London W8 6TN. Kensington Army Reserve Centre is a drill hall and associated amenities currently used by Battalion Headquarters of the 7th Battalion The Rifles, and 217 Hospital Squadron in Iverna Gardens, Kensington. The building was designed and completed in 1903 as the headquarters for the 4th (Kensington) Middlesex Volunteer Rifle Corps. The existing boiler installation was undertaken in the early 2000’s. There is a main plantroom room in the basement that provides domestic hot water and heating to all the facilities in Kensington Army Reserve Centre. Cold water storage tanks on the roof provide a cold water supply to the bathrooms and to the hot water calorifiers. The existing plant consists of 2 No. Ideal Commercial Concord CXA 70 gas fired boilers, 2 No gas fired hot water storage heaters, associated pumps, expansion vessels and controls. The boiler flue routes through an existing chimney to discharge at roof level. New communal boilers and replacement pumps are to be provided in the basement plantroom.
