Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) and Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB), collectively the South West Wales region (the Region), seek to appoint service providers to undertake Integrated Pest Management services across the respective health boards’ sites. The contract will support a diverse estate portfolio, including acute hospitals, community hospitals, mental health units, community clinics, kitchens, waste compounds, external grounds, plant rooms, and other high risk or specialist areas. Preventative and reactive cover will be required, with sites classified based on risk. Carmarthenshire Sites: Approx 31 locations Pembrokeshire Sites: Approx 21 locations Ceredigion Sites: Approx 18 locations Swansea Sites: Approx 20 locations Neath Port Talbot Sites: Approx 11 locations The project is being led by both Health Boards, with HDUHB leading on the procurement process. Pre-Market Engagement (PME) will include two elements: 1. PME Questionnaire – to understand market interest and capacity, including testing appetite for lotting structure, and understanding any barriers that may prevent SMEs or local suppliers from participating in the procurement. The questionnaire will inform the procurement, including how NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) can reduce barriers by welcoming suggestions regarding lotting, insurance, accreditation and contract requirements. The questionnaire is for market engagement purposes only and will not be used to assess, score, pre-qualify or exclude suppliers from this or any future procurement process. 2. PME Event – a virtual event where interested bidders can attend to learn more about the opportunity, including the anticipated procurement timetable and opportunities for suppliers to seek clarification ahead of tender publication. Your input would be very much appreciated to help inform the future direction and service model for integrated pest management in the Region. Estimated value is per annum. Contract duration is to be confirmed. This exercise does not commit either Health Board to undertake any future procurement. Participation in this exercise is entirely voluntary and will not provide any advantage or disadvantage in any subsequent procurement process.
