| Method Rationale: | Access & Disability Services provides specialist advice, workplace assessments and support that assists the BBC in identifying and implementing reasonable workplace adjustments for disabled colleagues. A direct award has been undertaken to maintain continuity of this service and avoid disruption to support relied upon by colleagues across the organisation. Continued access to workplace adjustment advice and support assists the BBC in meeting its responsibilities under equality legislation and supporting an accessible working environment. The 12-month term will provide sufficient time for the BBC to review future requirements, engage with the market and develop its long-term sourcing strategy. As part of this process, the BBC will consider a range of future delivery options which, subject to the relevant approvals, may include a full re-procurement of the service. The extension is with the incumbent supplier has already been signed as they have the technical knowledge to support immediatly and intended solely as a temporary measure and is limited to the period considered necessary to establish future arrangements whilst maintaining uninterrupted support for colleagues. |
