The Council's current demolition framework expires August 2026 and has provided significant benefits to the city since it was implemented. This placed Salford at the forefront of construction procurement best practice and have produced high quality developments, which have achieved national recognition. The partnership arrangement this has led to: • Better value for money • Improved predictability of out-turn costs and time • Better design • Higher quality • Less defects • Improved Health and Safety including reduced accidents • Increased client and community satisfaction • Better whole life value The above information has been used to maximise the opportunities available to the Council and develop proposals regarding new construction frameworks. The Council has commissioned the Building Surveying & Facilities Management section of Salford City Council, who are responsible for the provision of construction, design and maintenance services to be responsible for the design, project and contract management of the framework.
1.2 The scope of the work is of all project values. Typically, the work will be comprised of the following categories but is not exclusive to: • High rise work (hand, machine, high reach or explosives), • Low rise work (hand or machine), • Emergency responsive call out work, • Securing and boarding up of empty and dilapidated properties. • Asbestos removal • Site remediation • Waste removal/disposal
The scope of the work is of all project values to provide an emergency response service during working hours only. Works will include but is not exclusive to: • Full or partial dismantlement of buildings or structures using mechanical or hand demolition techniques. • Temporary structural support to building elements (Via 3rd party contractor is necessary) • Reinstatement of building elements if demolition is not a feasible option. (Via 3rd party contractor is necessary) • To provide site security (via 3rd party contractors if necessary) • To provide heras type fencing. • To secure buildings to prevent access to dangerous buildings. • To sample and remove asbestos.
The scope of the work is of all project values to provide a planned and 24hr emergency response service during working hours only. Works will include but is not exclusive to: 1. Provide during and out-of-working hours emergency response including: • To secure buildings which have been opened to unauthorised access. • To provide heras type fencing. • To provide site security (via 3rd party contractors if necessary) • To remove or secure minor hazardous building elements, which pose a threat to public safety, for example but not limited to: • Loose tiles and slates • Shards of glass hanging from window frames • Loose guttering or downpipes 2. Provide demolition enabling works during working hours including: • To clear building of chattels and fittings as required • To secure buildings to restrict unauthorised access • To provide access for surveys and inspections • To re-secure buildings which have been opened to unauthorised access • To remove hazardous building elements which pose a threat to public safety
