Contract for technical advice under the Hinkley Point C Compensation Measures project. Key areas for technical advice will be as follows: • To provide information on where existing or historic Marine Habitat habitats, species or suitable conditions occur and based on this, provide some recommendations of potential zones where habitats and species could establish or re-establish. o Consider potential siting within these zones for each habitat or species based on any known pressures, pros and cons for habitat connectivity, such as fewer larger sites or more smaller sites, and begin to consider the logistics of sourcing those species and habitats. • Identify potential areas using habitat preference criteria to help identify the location of sites. • Provide expert advice on restoration methods. • Provide literature and conduct literature reviews. • Contribution to technical outputs. This could be in the form of contribution to reports, checking reports prior to submission or quality assurance of data obtained by Cefas or third-party subcontractors. Alongside desk-based requirements, there is potential to require the supplier to join ground truthing or drone surveys at potential restoration zones. If attendance is not possible, remote support may be necessary. The supplier's expertise may be necessary from the planning and execution phases. Any fieldwork related Health and Safety will be governed by existing Risk Assessments and Method Statements which have been agreed with NNB GenCo. Attendance, where practical, at the Marine Habitats Working Group remote meetings with Cefas, NNB GenCo (HPC) and other project stakeholders. It is anticipated that the vast majority of work under this contract will be remote, however some travel may be necessary. Where possible, Cefas will book and pre-pay travel and accommodation as required. Any further reasonable travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed against valid receipts or other acceptable evidence of expenditure.
