UK ROC provides an essential service to Commissioners, Services and Patients, as follows: • Commissioners: regular validated reports giving Commissioners valuable insights into their services activity against budget, complexity levels of patients, bed day costs (useful as PLICS data is currently unreliable), a rich dataset of patient demographics, patient inputs and outcomes (based on validated clinical tools), national and regional service provision as well as shortfall in provision, regular reporting against British Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (BSPRM) and NHSE national specification core standards, bespoke reports and answering Commissioner queries re their services and much more • Services: use and training of invaluable day to day operational clinical tools to enable service planning, enhanced patient care and efficient use of scarce resources • Patients: the rich and extensive UK ROC national dataset has allowed for multiple national and international research and peer reviewed papers, with cross border collaboration, resulting in significant advances in patient outcomes and care for this very vulnerable and often over-looked patient group
