The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) requires four acoustic current meters for the measurement of ocean currents from long-term deep-water moorings. The contract was awarded to maintain continuity and compatibility with existing instruments, ensuring reliable, high-quality oceanographic data. Alternative instruments could not meet the technical and operational requirements for accuracy, durability, diagnostic capability, and integration with existing systems.
