A new framework will be established for the supply of hydrometric data loggers capable of cardinal point logging functionality. Additionally, the framework will include after sales technical support and cover the supply of spare parts and modules necessary for the repair and maintenance of data logging equipment acquired under this agreement. The Environment Agency (EA) is transitioning to a unified Schneider-based National telemetry system, consolidating six legacy systems. Field equipment is managed and maintained by fourteen area-based operational teams, each responsible for ensuring reliable data collection and logging from environmental monitoring sites. Loggers with the option to meet some of our future telemetry requirements will also be considered as part of this framework. As part of this telemetry system transition, the EA is adopting modern communication protocols including DNP3, WITS-DNP3, Lucid, and IP-based packet-switched data transmission. These technologies will support more robust and flexible data logging from field data loggers, enabling improved data integrity, accessibility, and analysis. The new framework will comprise of two Lots, each with a set of functional requirements that must be met by the proposed data logger types. Where data loggers have telemetry functionality, they are required to operate with Schneider telemetry systems using either DNP3, WITS DNP3 or Lucid (when available) and inclusion of a multi band modem is desirable. Lot 1 - IP68 rated logger device to operate at level, flow and rainfall sites as backup devices to the main existing remote telemetry units. Maximum device dimensions of 170mm x 150mm x 80mm. Lot 2 - A single sensor IP68 rated logger device to operate where space may be limited. Dimensions should allow fitment within a tube diameter >50mm. Functionality to directly connect input sensors, without need for external junction box, to data logger whilst maintaining IP68 rating.
