BTP has a statutory responsibility to ensure that detainees have access to appropriate healthcare while in police detention which should be provided in a timely and effective manner. The scope of the proposed work is to provide forensic healthcare services to the following London Custody suite: Brewery Road (main custody suite hub) Wembley Park (when open for operational needs and business continuity) It should be noted that Brewery Road is the main custody hub with the other custody suite (Wembley Park) open to manage business continuity, overflow or for other operational needs. During the life of the contract the throughput of detainees may be subject to change. BTP's current contract provides forensic medical healthcare and the sampling procedures required for investigating serious crime, meeting the requirements set by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and the Detention and Custody authorised professional practise set by the College of Policing. It will also meet the legal obligations placed on BTP under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and mitigate risks associated with the Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act 2007.
