West Northamptonshire Council has undertaken a competitive procurement process to commission a Support Provider to continue to deliver specialist support to individuals with multiple and complex needs with a history of rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, who are accommodated at Oasis House, Northampton. WNC has expressed a commitment within its Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2024-2027 to homeless people with multiple needs who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping people is tailored to the needs of individual to secure better outcomes, improve health and wellbeing and support recovery and avoid repeated homelessness. The scheme will provide a 'preventative' service and work in partnership with WNC and its partners to accommodate people with immediate housing and support needs, preventing rough sleeping, and assisting rough sleepers in transitioning to independent living. It will also offer off-the-street rapid response beds for an initial assessment period within en-suite rooms to identify the housing and support needs of service users based on their assessed needs and risks. The goal is to minimise returns to homelessness, promote independence, prevent social exclusion, support individuals with substance misuse issues, and operate within a psychologically informed environment.
