Description
Occupational Health Services (Medicals) includes - a) Medical questionnaires, screening, surveillance and examinations, b) Management referrals, c) Medical advice, d) Ill-Health Retirement The following is an indication of the highest volume areas of service requirements: • Routine Medical Examinations - 450 per year • Management Referrals - 210 per year • New Recruit Medical Examinations - 150 per year • Pre-Employment Questionnaires - 80 per year • Hand and Vibration Checks - 30 per year • Ill-Health Retirement Referrals - 15 per year The services are currently delivered using a blended approach of services delivered at one of our three on-site clinics (Plymouth, Exeter and Taunton) and remote/virtual. On-site clinics are currently open four days per week (the total number of days across all three sites (two days are at the Exeter clinic)). The aim is to reduce to three clinic days in 2026 (the fourth day was added temporarily to clear a backlog of routine medicals). The current contract is due to expire on 31st October 2027. The Invitation to Tender (for replacing this contract) is planned for publication in Autumn 2026. A framework agreement may be used to procure these services.
