| Procurement Method: | Award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition |
| Method Rationale: | During an audit of our Fire Safety Compliance processes it was highlighted that monthly testing on Emergency Lighting on 2 storey blocks of flats was required and had not historically been carried out. Contractors were urgently required to carry out monthly testing to ensure not only our compliance but the safety of tenants in social housing. As we had already previously contracted a supplier via a competitive process to carry out the annual compliance checks on these same blocks of flats it made economical sense to award them a contract to also complete the monthly checks. Although a full procurement process was not completed, we had approached the market for suppliers who could complete similar work on 3 storey buildings and therefore had prices to compare to those submitted by this contractor. |
