Dover Harbour Board intends to establish the Specialist Design Support Framework, comprised of a pool of consultants based around the following Lots: Lot 1 – Civils Design Lot 2 – Maritime Design Lot 3 – Specialist Mechanical Design Lot 4 – Structural Design Lot 5 – Electrical Design Lot 6 – Architectural Design Since requirements will include ad-hoc assessments, reactive design services and discreet, specialist design packages, this framework lends itself to the flexibility and reactivity of SMEs. Applicants may apply for multiple Lots.
Services under this Lot will be focused on individual, discreet packages of design across civils and highway assets including, though not limited to, bridges, culverts, paving and gantries. Further information is available in Appendix C of the documents.
A non-exhaustive list of potential specialist works includes: • cathodic protection and corrosion prevention systems – including coating specialists and Level 4 cathodic protection specialist to BS EN ISO 15257:2017 specifically in the field of marine metallic structures • wave energy, tidal energy, offshore wind energy • mooring line snap-back protection • scour prevention and protection, etc. Further information on scope is available in Appendix C of the documents.
Services under this Lot will be focused on individual, discreet packages of design across mechanical assets including, though not limited to, water, gas and sewerage provisions, working mechanical components to structures facilitating berthing, loading and passenger access operations including hydraulic systems/components contained within and mechanical services provided within the Ports’ circa 200 buildings. Further information on scope is included within Appendix C of the documents.
Services under this Lot will be focused on individual, discreet packages of design across structural assets including, though not limited to, bridges, suspended decks, retaining walls, lighting columns, High Mast Lighting Units, support structures, building structures and berth structures Further information on scope is included within Appendix C of the documents.
Services under this Lot will be focused on individual, discreet packages of design across electrical assets including, though not limited to, the following: • High Voltage electrical distribution network • Electrical Substations • Buildings, kiosks and lighthouses - which vary considerably in functional use, construction form, age, condition and exposure to the elements. • Standby Generating sets • High mast roadway lighting • Illuminated external signage and message display boards • Navigation lighting • Berth Linkspan systems and equipment • Berthing equipment, including quick release hooks • Passenger Boarding Bridges • Control systems including PLCs and BMS systems Further information on scope can be found in Appendix C of the documents.
Services under this Lot will be focused on individual, discreet packages of design across buildings assets including, though not limited to, the following: ▪Traditional framed structures; ▪Traditional masonry structures; ▪Pre-fabricated structures; ▪Containers/ enclosures (housing plant or mechanical / electrical equipment or services) ▪Canopies (either fitted to buildings or installed above vehicle lanes) ▪Heritage assets, including office buildings, residential apartments a Cruise Terminal and Lighthouses.
