The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board wish to purchase a fully mobile dental platform designed specifically for wheelchair patients. The patient remains in their own wheelchair at all times, eliminating manual handling and hoisting, whilst enabling the optimal angle for dental care treatment for both patient and clinical team. From market research it is believed that the Diaco Dental Chair is the only available option that meets the following specific technical requirements and this notice is being published to advise the market of the intention to award subject to no challenge from other suppliers who believe they can meet the requirements. The dental chair must accept all mass electric and manual wheelchairs up to a Safe Working Load of 1100lbs/500kgs. The dental chair must have the ability to recline all the way past 45 to 75 allowing the correct flat head position for the patient and the correct seated working position for the dental team. The dental chair must be completely manual handling free when being moved around the surgery, with the ability to plug in the joystick and move. The dental chair must have a quick patient release in case of power failure.
