Kent Downs AONB and North Downs Way (NDW) National Trail through the Interreg France England Channel (FCE) programme are seeking a signage partner to define 15 stages of the North Downs Way National trail with Gateway signage at the beginning and end of each trail section. The intention is to strengthen the link between the rail network and tourism/ recreational opportunities along the trail and improve connectivity between travel modes and comfort on geographical information along with local walking & cycling routes. A contractor has been appointed to ensure the relevant landowner and planning permissions are obtained for the installation of these panels. Copy & images will be provided by the client. The purpose of these signs is to: • Create clearly defined start/ finish points for each trail section • Provide key route information, maps and points of interest • Create opportunity for "selfie" images to be shared on social channels as visitors complete sections • Create associations between rail travel and the trail, encouraging visitors to use rail as a means of sustainable travel to and from trail sections. • Acknowledge the project funding & investments made along the trail via the EXPERIENCE project
