Introduction and Preliminaries The purpose of the brief is to obtain fixed price quotations and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new play equipment and surfacing at Five Heads Road Recreation Ground Play Area, Horndean, Hants PO8 9NE. (see location plan at Appendix 1). Project Summary and Budget The Council is inviting proposals for the removal of old equipment and for the supply and installation of playground equipment to refurbish, upgrade and modernise the play area at Five Heads Road Recreation Ground. It does not include the roped area or the shelter which will remain in place. An itemised quotation is required to identify all costs together with an illustrated layout for design purposes which will be assessed on a quality / play value basis as well as on price. A funding ceiling of £60,000 (exclusive of VAT) has been set and this includes for all design work, removal of old equipment and surfacing, supply of new equipment, surfacing and relocation or refurbishment of existing items. Any bids over this amount will be disqualified. Please see the Specification for further details. The Council is inviting Contractors to propose up to 2 design options for the site. The Council will initially choose their preferred option from each Contractor and the preferred option will then be scored and evaluated. One day will be available for site viewing on 17th November 2022.
