National Highways Tree/Nurseries Market Engagement

This notice is to advise the marketplace of an opportunity to meet the National Highways procurement team, and discuss the planting and growing of seeds provided by National Highways, until they are ready to be planted out to contribute to the National Highways overall Carbon Net Zero plan. Additional information: National Highways has committed to plant an additional 3m trees by 2030, over and above the ones required for business as usual. Over the next five years we will be securing seeds of UK origin and supplying them to nurseries, to cultivate until they are ready to plant out. We want our arrangements to be simple and mutually beneficial and want to understand how nurseries could meet our requirement for national coverage so the soil types and climate conditions necessary for a wide range of species are available. Nurseries are invited so they can hear about our plans and influence the detail. This is a different type of contract for NH and we want one that fits with the standard processes and activities that nurseries operate under.
