EventIMPACTS.com is managed and delivered by a consortium of project partners consisting of EventScotland, Welsh Government, Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, UK Sport and Tourism Northern Ireland (Project Partners). EventIMPACTS.com is an online Toolkit that aims to provide key guidance and good practice principles for evaluating the social, economic, environmental and media-related impacts associated with staging sporting and cultural events. Since the launch of eventIMPACTS.com there have been both significant advances in knowledge, expertise and best practice regarding impact as well as changes in Government policy and legislation in these areas. Public interest and scrutiny as to the social and environmental impact of events has also increased and the Project Partners recognise the need for EventIMPACTS.com to reflect this. The EventIMPACTS website includes the economic impact calculator that has become the go-to industry standard tool and methodology for measuring economic impact. As the industry and wider world places increasing importance on social and environmental impact, the Project Partners wish to undertake a full review of the EventIMPACTS project. Partners are therefore looking to commission this review which will scope and clarify the aims and deliverables of EventIMPACTS to ensure its direction is aligned with the Project Partners' collective organisational objectives and has a clear purpose and strategy under which work can be delivered. The work will also include a review of the guidance and advice offered both on the EventIMPACTS website currently, the calculator tool and a scoping of other tools, advice, resources and guidance as to measurement of impact. This review will be presented as recommendations as to what the EventIMPACTS website could include to ensure it continues to be a helpful, robust and consistent tool for the industry.
