Royal Hospital Chelsea Taxi Hire Statement of Requirement 1. Statement of Requirement The Royal Hospital Chelsea requires the hiring of taxis on an as required basis. The requirement is to support in the region of 300 veteran soldiers who attend various functions throughout the country. 2. Scope of service The following is a list of the services required. • Provide vehicles which are registered and well maintained. • Provide a range of vehicles from 4 seats to 7 seats. • Provide a wheelchair accessible vehicle on certain occasions. Vehicles should have the facility to fix and strap a wheelchair. • Provide a driver who is courteous and has the ability to communicate orally in English. • Drivers should be mindful of their passengers. • Drivers should report 5 mins before the departure time. If there is a delay the driver is to inform the POC ASAP • Once passengers are set down they should not be left until they have been met. On occasions, passengers may need collecting from inside the Hospitals. • Vehicles should be available normally within 1 hours' notice, although, on occasions, immediate availability may be required. • Ability to book several vehicles for the day at short notice, on the day. • There should be no cancellation charge if more than 48 hours' notice is given. • All invoices to be paid by MasterCard, with no transaction fees applied 3. Regular bookings Listed below are some areas where vehicles will be expected to travel: • All London hospitals • All London rail stations • Heathrow • Lowestoft • Short local journeys Additional information: To take part in this process please email david.williams@chelsea-pensioners.org.uk to confirm participation.
