Contract for the services of the Association of Chief Trading Standards Officers (ACTSO) to assist APHA in influencing local authorities to deliver an effective animal health and welfare enforcement service in the face of financial pressures so that they remain able to respond to animal disease outbreaks. ACTSO are integral in a disease outbreak in communicating requirements to over 150 different Local Authorities. The contract is flexible so in the event of a protracted disease outbreak, the resources within it can be directed solely to be used on disease outbreak engagement with Local Authorities.
