"Southampton City Council invited bids from service providers with relevant experience and ability to deliver a perinatal peer support service Programme for male parent carers, from pregnancy through to the child being 19 years old. The overall aims of the service will encompass the following; • Promoting positive early relationships and perinatal mental health support. • Normalising and de-stigmatising conversations around mental health and parent-infant relationships difficulties that may occur. • Providing emotional and peer support to ensure that male parent carers who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues have a peer support network to turn to. • Ensuring marginalised communities such as the black and minority ethnic community have specific support tailored to their needs. • Working closely with the Family Hub networks, taking referrals for peer support and referring on when other needs emerge." Additional information: "The Council has the option to extend the contract in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Section 6, Paragraph 72 for an additional 1 (one) year term (12 months in total) subject to contract review and availability of additional external grant funding via the Family Hubs Start for Life Transformation Programme 2023 - 2025. The total amount of funding available for the current contract term - 2023-2024 equates to £52, 500. "
