Scope of the Project The Council seek to commission a service which will provide Short Breaks for disabled children and young people. Therefore, the Council are seeking to commission a wide range of Short Breaks provisions of play schemes/holiday schemes, clubs and activities for children and young people with a disability and/or additional needs, including those with more complex needs. The Short Breaks will need to be designed to enable eligible children and young people to have fun, socialise and learn new skills. The following feedback from service users (children/young people and their parents/carers) provides an indication of what they most want from a Short Breaks The Short Breaks will need to be available during the following times: School holidays - Monday to Friday (up to 13 weeks per year) Weekends - Saturday and/or Sunday (up to 52 weeks per year) Weekdays - After school/evenings (up to 39 weeks per year) The Council proposes to enter into Contract for an period of 3 years from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2027 (with an option to extend for a further 2 years to 31 March 2029, with the successful tenderer (Service Provider).
