The Department of Health and Social Care has appointed Sheffield University) Sheffield Centre for Health and Related Research) for the delivery of the following objectives: 1. Review and adaptation of one of the ScHARR microsimulation patient-level models to mirror the natural progression of prostate cancer, facilitating the assessment of cost-effectiveness in various population groups. 2. Calibration of the prostate cancer model using UK-specific data. 3. Evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of one-time PSA screening for men of average risk across different age thresholds. 4. Assessment of the cost-effectiveness of one-time PSA screening for men with a familial history of prostate or breast cancers across different age thresholds. 5. Analysis of the cost-effectiveness of one-time PSA screening for Black men across different age thresholds. 6. Examination of the cost-effectiveness of one-time PSA screening for men with BRCA2 mutation across different age thresholds. Initial contract term: 6 months (up to 31/08/2024) Extension: The contract may be extended for a maximum duration of 6 months. Estimated value: Initial value £83,000 exclusive, £ 99,600.00 inclusive of VAT. Variations: Depending on the successful outcome of the service deliverables, budget availability, and internal approvals, the Authority at its sole discretion may require additional services from the contractor that will aim to address several repeat screening strategies.
