Borough of Telford and Wrekin have secured Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG2) funding from The Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. This funding is to improve the energy efficiency of privately owned domestic properties not on the gas network between 01/04/2023 and 31/03/2025, or later should there be any extension(s) to the scheme. The have appointed a Contractor to carry out the programme of whole-house retrofits using a fabric first approach. The contractor will install energy efficiency measures and low carbon heating systems on properties located within the Borough of Telford and Wrekin. Measures include insulation measures such as CWI, LI, EWI, IWI, room in roof insulation, flat roof and underfloor but other options will be needed to meet the needs of different properties. A portion of these properties that are suitable will also receive Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), ground source heat pump, and high temp heat pumps . Some additional measures may be installed where these are deemed to be appropriate such as Solar PV and double glazing. In addition a number of qualifying low cost measures will also be considered.
