This is a Contract Award Notice The PCC for Cheshire needs to dispose of property on an ad-hoc basis in a legitimate and transparent way to ensure the Force's integrity and reputation remain in tact. The property comes from a number of sources e.g. found property that has been handed in that the Force has been unable to identify or contact the rightful owner; seized property that turns out to have been stolen and therefore, cannot be returned to the person from whom it was seized; property that remains unclaimed after the owners' have been contacted and asked to collect it. The PCC for Cheshire aims to dispose of such property in a manner that raised the maximum amount of income, as the funds that are generated through the process are then used for charitable purposes e.g. support to local crime prevention initiatives. Therefore, the PCC for Cheshire seeks to sell as much as possible at auction. The contractor is required to collect goods to be sold at auction from the designated Cheshire Constabulary Property Stores located at Blacon, Northwich, Crewe, Macclesfield, Warrington and Winsford, using the most appropriate means of transport e.g. high value items require a secure vehicle. The successful contractor must be capable of : - collecting property such as small electrical items, bicycles, cameras, toys, leather goods, foreign coins, jewellery, memorabilia etc., (please note this list is not exhaustive) from the designated Cheshire Constabulary premises. A Request for Quotes (RFQ) was conducted as an online questionnaire/RFQ. The value of the contract is linked to a commission on items sold. This is anticipated to be less than £10,000.
