Direct award to deliver support within supported accommodation to vulnerable adults (over 18) who are currently /or at risk of becoming homeless to prepare for independent living within a settled accommodation setting The service objectives shall be to: • prepare Service Users for independent living with the aim to be living without support • reduce the number of Service Users who having previously stayed in supported accommodation; subsequently find themselves in need of such services again- 'repeat Service Users' • facilitate a quicker journey through supported accommodation to regain independence • work closely in partnership with agencies including police, probation services, children's services, home treatment team and others in order to maximise the effectiveness of the scheme • provide anti-discriminatory services offering equal opportunities in all areas of practice • be accountable for the Services provided through regular consultation with Service Users and other stakeholders and participate in quality assurance systems • reduce the risk of the development of additional barriers to becoming independent for Service Users during stays in supported accommodation • ensure that Service Users experience of supported accommodation is positive. • ensure Service Users are able to access independent living arrangements more quickly. • ensure a higher proportion of Service Users exiting Services progress on to more independent/settled living arrangements. • place Service Users at the centre of the individual support planning process. • have a commitment to providing quality Services and ensuring Service User satisfaction. • add social value, having regard to the Public Services Social Value Act 2012in Sandwell through (but not limited to): preventing costs to other services such as health (particularly emergency health services), police, and probation services. social inclusion for Service Users and the representation of homeless services as positive contributors to the life of the Borough altering preconceptions of those in need of supported accommodation services opportunities to enlist the support of the local volunteer workforce as well as ex-Service Users in roles where this is appropriate (e.g. peer support or befriending)
