MBC Play Area Surfacing Repairs

Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) is looking to appoint a contractor to undertake play area surfacing repairs include all preparatory work and base preparation. MBC manages over 60 play areas across the borough. All equipment is installed on an impact absorbing surface including bark, grass mat, rubber mulch and wet pour rubber. At a number of sites the wet pour rubber is shrinking away from edging kerbs or is worn under high wear areas. These faults can cause trip hazards and worn surfacing no longer offers the impact absorbency for the equipment it is under. Funding has been identified to replace or repair areas of surfacing at a number of sites. All play areas have been surveyed and a programme of repairs prepared in order of priority.
