Provision of Annual Clinical Care Reviews for individuals in receipt of NHS Continuing Healthcare funding.

Description

SCW are commissioned to manage the end-end process for NHS Continuing Health (CHC) on behalf of Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) for the population of East and West Kent, that are registered with a GP within the ICB's geographical footprint. As part of the NHS National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care (National Framework). National framework for NHS continuing healthcare and NHS-funded nursing care - GOV.UK SCW took over the service in 2019 and inherited backlog in certain workflows. A focused piece of work was completed in late 2022/23 to undertake Clinical Annual Care Reviews which is a requirement under the NHS National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care (FNC) (July 2022), to provide assurance that individuals in receipt of CHC funding have the correct package of care in place to meet their assessed needs. This is a statutory obligation of the ICB under the Standing Rules/Regulations (2012). As a result of a large number of reviews completed in a condensed period of time, the business as usual (BAU) team has not able to complete the reviews in a timely manner and therefore a further backlog has developed. The route to market will be by further competition via the SCW CSU Consultancy Services DPS 2.0
