The provision of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Inspection & Testing Service for vehicles licensed by Telford & Wrekin Council. Bidders must be an approved DVSA Vehicle Testing Station located within the Borough of Telford & Wrekin. The main provisions of the inspection & testing service is to: •Ensure that licensed vehicles are mechanically safe and meet the standards of the DVSA MoT. •Ensure that licensed vehicles are compliant with Telford & Wrekin Council's licence conditions. •Ensure that trailers towed by licensed vehicles are of a safe construction and suitable for the towing vehicle. •To carry out a meter accuracy test for hackney carriages on the Council's measured mile Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
