The Levelling Up Fund is part of the government's investment programme. The £4.8 billion Levelling Up Fund will invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK, including regenerating town centres and high streets, upgrading local transport, and investing in cultural and heritage assets. The Fund will focus on capital investment in local infrastructure that has a visible impact on people and their communities. The Council is planning to submit a bid to Round 2 of the Fund, based on Hucknall but also bringing wider benefits to the rest of the District. The bid requires the formal written support of the local MP. The Council wants to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified consultant to prepare the bid, which we anticipate will be submitted sometime in Spring 2022, depending on government guidance.
