Southend-on-Sea City Council seek a suitably qualified Company to carry out geotechnical and geo-environmental Ground investigations on the land area of Leigh Port (Lot 1) and a suitably qualified Company to carry out geotechnical and geo-environmental Sediment and Water Sampling in the Water area of Leigh Port (Lot 2) Lot 1, the Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Ground Investigations will incorporate the Sea Wall and Boat Access area. This Ground Investigation will be the primary investigation for the main development works to Leigh Port which includes the construction of a new retaining wall. The Ground Investigation will comprise of intrusive site works; in-situ testing, geotechnical and geo-environmental laboratory testing; ground-penetrating radar (GRP) survey, post fieldwork monitoring, factual reporting, and provision of AGS data and an asbestos survey. Lot 2, the Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Sediment and Water Sampling is to be carried out prior to dredging works to maintain and widen the existing shipping channel. The Sediment and Water sampling campaign will involve chemical analysis of sediment and water samples for potential contaminants and the sediment samples will also undergo Particle Size Analysis (PSA). Testing is to be undertaken at an MMO validated UKAS accredited laboratory.
