The UKHSA Immunisation and Vaccine-Preventable Disease Division is responsible for the public health management and national surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases and delivers part of this function through a central sample collection kit distribution service. This work supports UKHSA commitments towards WHO measles and rubella elimination and associated surveillance targets. UKHSA prepare an annual submission to the WHO to demonstrate the presence of a high-quality surveillance system that is sensitive and specific enough to detect, confirm and classify all suspected cases. Enhanced Surveillance is carried out for vaccine-eligible individuals who are a confirmed case of COVID-19. Pre-labelled kits including will be couriered to consenting individuals in the community. Enhanced Surveillance for COVID-19 has been a vital component of the surveillance scheme during the pandemic and continues to be so. The award to AA Xpress via the CCS Framework Contract with the reference number RM6282 for the provision of Storage, Distribution, Kitting and Associated Services will help facilitate the progress of the study and mitigate against disruption of service. AA Xpress was selected as the company that offered the most advantageous combination of cost, quality, and sustainability to meet UKHSA's requirements.
